Five tasks to hand to an agent this week

Small, boring, well-defined jobs are where an agent earns its keep. Start with these.

Guides

If you are new to working with an agent, start where the risk is low and the payoff is obvious.

1. Fix a flaky test

Point it at the test that fails one run in ten. It can run the test a hundred times and find the cause.

2. Write the missing tests for one module

Pick the module nobody wants to touch. Ask for tests that describe what it does today.

3. Upgrade one dependency

Let it read the release notes and your usage before it changes anything.

4. Explain a part of the codebase

Ask how a payment or a login works and check the answer against the files it cites.

5. Draft the changelog

Give it the merged pull requests and ask for the customer-facing version.
